44th Midwest Horse Fair returns to Alliant Energy Center

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Horse heaven returns to the Capitol City this weekend for three days saddled with performances, clinics and exhibitors.

The Midwest Horse Fair is taking over the Alliant Energy Center and Coliseum Friday through Sunday. The theme for this year’s 44th fair is ‘Journey Home.’

Hundreds of exhibitors, including 30+ breed and discipline groups, will be featured at the fair. New for this year, attendees can indulge in a petting farm, and watch a Liberty demonstration featuring “Heartland actress Amber Marshall.

General admission tickets can be bought at the gate with cash. Children ages 7 and under get in free, and military members and veterans with a valid ID can get in for free on Sunday.

Each year, about 60,000 flock to Madison for the fair while generating about $11 million for the local economy.

You must purchase separate tickets for some weekend events including the rodeo Friday and Saturday night.
